1. What We Collect

When you use CleanInbox, we collect:

• Account information: your email address and hashed password when you register.
• Connected email credentials: App Passwords you provide to connect your email accounts. These are stored to maintain your connection.
• Email metadata: sender names, sender email addresses, and subject lines — scanned to identify newsletters and promotional senders. We do not read, store, or process the body content of your emails.
• Usage data: unsubscribe history, scan results, and plan/billing information.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To connect to your email account and perform scans on your behalf.
• To identify and unsubscribe you from unwanted senders.
• To track your usage against your monthly plan limit.
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To send you transactional emails (e.g. unsubscribe confirmations).

3. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not read the body content of your emails.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use your email data for advertising.
• We do not share your credentials with anyone.

4. App Passwords & Security

CleanInbox uses App Passwords — separate, limited-access keys generated by your email provider (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Apple). These are not your main account password. We store them to maintain your connection and perform scans. You can revoke access at any time by deleting the App Password from your email provider's security settings.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including credentials, scan results, and history — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Third-Party Services

• Stripe: handles all payment processing. We do not store credit card numbers.
• Railway: our hosting provider. Your data is stored on Railway's infrastructure.
